You must be thinking,
"Oh, Ivan, there's a typo there; right on the headline!"
Truth said, it is past midnight when I'm sitting in front of my computer to take care of the first blog post of the month. 'Perks' of being my own boss, as somebody said to me not so long ago, lol.
Back to our topic, we spent some time with Yangyang Fang and Rebecca Lang, recently elected 2017-2018 co-chairs of the Community Health Sciences Student Executive at Cumming School of Medicine. Now you get it, right? CHSSE is a very clever acronym that spells for a voice for the students to be heard in higher instances of the academic world. Not only that, as Rebecca and Yangyang explained, Student Executives are able to help fellow students on other tasks such as improving their resume, connecting with faculty members, and even sharing in a more relaxed environment during the already famous TGIF, regularly happening at the Atrium.
Tip for new students, networking is key! So go & grab some cheese! next event is September 8th, 2017 (and don't forget to network), you'll thank them later :-)
It was so good to be in campus that we barely felt we were actually working. People are so friendly at University of Calgary that I felt I should enrol for a program in the near future. Or maybe it's just because I love learning, haha!
If you want to connect further with CHSSE, visit their webpage, or follow CHSSE on instagram @chsse_ucalgary
Stay tuned at Family Filmmaker for Rebecca and Yangyang's short video and don't forget to leave a comment in the section down below. Tell us what's your favourite thing about being a student, and where do you see yourself after graduating?
Until next time,
